By applying the laws of physics, material characteristics, knowledge of the local environment and understanding of human behavior, vehicular accidents can be reconstructed to provide a moment-by-moment account of the events leading up to a collision or other incident. Specialized software is used to model the vehicle and human motions, and assist in explaining how the accident occurred. The recreation of the accident can be performed under various constraints, and the resulting scenarios compared. When applicable the analysis and recreation is aided via information from event data recorders, from Berla interrogation tools, drone footage of the incident location, and 3-dimensional vehicle scans.
